Short biography
María Mercedes holds a Bachelor of Laws both in Spain and in Venezuela, where she is a qualified lawyer, and possesses a strong background in education and as a lawyer working for law firms and consultancy firms. Before joining IE University as an Associate Director of Law Programs, she worked in one of the top law firms in Caracas, Venezuela, where she simultaneously gained her first experiences in the education sector as an academic tutor. After completing her LL.M. Program at IE University, she joined a consultancy firm in Spain where she oversaw taxation matters for her clients. In her current capacity as Associate Director at IE University, she has further engaged in teaching Legal Writing to law students and managing the undergraduate law programs offered therein.
